Stone Paragraph

Stones have been used for building and construction since humans had the need of shelter. The first monument built of stones is Stonehenge, located in the United Kingdom. Then it evolved to a method of construction because of the lack of other materials. In the ancient Greece they used stones combined with wood to built temples such as the Parthenon. Stone, as a construction material, has three primary disadvantages: it is difficult to quarry, transport and cut. That means that building with stones it's expensive and when it comes to tension; they are not that strong. But because of their weight, they can resist very heavy loads and it can work as a structure material for walls and columns; but for roofs they're not so useful for the same reason: heaviness.
